Vert never gets the love it deserves. Probably because it’s so unobtainable for most of us. The big ramps are few and far between, and let’s face it; it takes nuts harder than diamonds to venture into the vert world. The Vert finals at this year’s X Games were seriously out of hand. And that’s no BS. With the fast format that all the comps were run with this year, it was trick after trick after trick after trick. And everyone was on point. Tim Wood should have made finals. But who shouldn’t have? Jamie Bestwick almost scored perfect runs. Chad Kagy went for two double flairs (unsuccessfully) and survived. I lost count of how many 900s went down. I left the Home Depot Center with over 600 usable photos of the madness. Instead of cutting it down to a couple dozen I’ve decided to let it bleed. 200 photos in this obese gallery. Don’t puke, it’s good stuff. Start to finish, it’s basically what went down in the finals. Sure there’s repetition, but in the mix there are some unbelievable airs. Take the time and show your respect for the gnarliest riders vert has ever seen.
