X Games 15: Big Air Trick List & Warm-up Gallery

Tonight’s Big Air finals saw the first ever double frontflip pulled in competition by Anthony Napolitan, as well as a number of crashes (every rider except Kevin Robinson crashed at least once). Below is a complete listing of tricks that each rider did (with some approximate heights for some of their airs). While Napolitan’s double frontflip was progressive and completely amazing, his run wasn’t scored as high as others because of his low air and lack of a trick on the quarter. This wasn’t a best trick comp—riders were scored for an overall run—meaning that both the distance jump and the quarter air was factored into their scores.

Check below the trick list for some photos from the warm-up practice session.

asside from the double front flip, this was a horrible contest, it just sucked, not enough runs. people quiting after claiming to go over 23 feet. just boring this year. and overall the camera crews have sucked too, like in street when martinez in doing a run, they just showed van and garret sitting on there bikes for thirty seconds, this has happened alot this year. super park looked better, aside from the announcers not knowing there was a second finals and mistakingly announcing diogo as the winner… im whinning

What are you talking about? “People quitting after claiming to go over 23 feet”… If you’re talking about me, I didn’t take my last two runs because I literally couldn’t… When I crashed on my second run, I smashed my tail bone and crunched my lower back to the point where I could barely walk that night. I wanted to take my other runs more than you know! I only get to ride that thing once a year… As for claiming to go over 23 feet… When asked, I told DMC that it was my goal this year was to go higher than I did in 07, which was just over 23 feet. I would have tried my best to do it had I not hurt myself early on… Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m not stupid enough to ride that thing with an injury that could potentially hurt me a whole lot worse! If I get the invite again next year, I’m still going to try to beat my personal best air on that thing!

Yeah Morgan, awesome ride, sorry about your crash.

nothing personal, there was just alot to look forward to seeing that didnt happen, anthony and kevin are probably the only ones happy with what happend. kevins foot problem held him back too. im sure he would have done alot more had he been more healthy. you gotta admit though, wouldnt it have been cool to see what chad and dave would have thrown down with a few more runs like the skaters had?

morgan wade… believe me you did not disappoint!!! you were off the chain! love your riding love you! hope to see you next year! stay healthy!!!

Morgan, rule number one, what other people think of you is none of your business, don’t take anything personally, actually this is rule number 3… if I could make a suggestion to you brother, if you get invited next year, a bike flip would be the shizzite, or better a double bike flip, or a bike flip 3, just saying… whip to downside whip maybe, downside whip to double whip, double barrel roll double whip, ok, I’m in make believe land now… :)
