The television coverage sucked balls for this event. ESPN started televising the bmx street FINAL on run 6 of 8 and the Podiums spots were all but set and all the riders were just about taxed out. Then I had to sit through 30 consecutive minutes of skateboarders doing knee slide after knee slide out of a giant rail. I find it hard to believe that 80 foot knee slides are more exciting to watch than hop over luc-e grinds and gigantic opposite 360’s.

Everyone here and the judges must of just not watched Corey Martinez cos he should of took gold.. bored of garret and all ty done was 3.. although before it started i would of said ty morrow all the way.

Nah, actually Homan hardly landed a single trick. You can’t say that he killed the course unless you actually saw what he did.

wow. you grom kids are so stupid. all of those guys in the finals were killing it! Van Homan is my favorite, but i respect all of the riders a ton. And I think the results were fair. Its just bmx you emo bastards! haha

Agreed, that big rail event was boring as hell I really hope they don’t bring it back, but X Games is pretty obsessed with the “big” events. They do a horrible job every year covering bmx street, yet they do a great job at covering skate street? They only mentioned Garrett one time, yet they were getting the hype all built up for the skate street comp the day before. They seem to be more about skateboarding than bmx IMO. Im not sure why?

unfortunately for you contests are judged on skill. Judges don’t pick their favorite rider, and they don’t give someone a bad score because they’re bored of them.
Garrett definitely deserved gold. All his tricks were dialed, and he was doing some huge combos. All the judging was pretty fair, except for kachinsky advancing to the finals, Sexton had him.

shut up. van is and always will be amazing. his part in criminal mischief CHANGED the way people rode street and he is still killing it. Not many guys his age are still on top of their game. Granted, all these young kids can do double truck whip no hander who gives a shits, he has style and technique. When BMX goes under (and it will-just ask any frame company how good they are ACTUALLY doing financially) he will still be riding while most of the other guys won’t. T-nez was great too.
